This may seem obvious, but understanding the 'default' that everyone is born with, is to understand the trajectory of one's life if one does nothing. UNIT 1 training examines what the Bible says about the human condition, our inheritance from the "first man".

The GODLY MAN rises to the challenge of maturity, with intentionality, and situational awareness regarding the dangers of doing nothing.

When I was a child, I used to speak as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

Therefore, the GODLY MAN prioritizes training for Godliness.

Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
