The CORPORAL badge and rank is earned by those who complete UNIT 3 training which establishes defence against the lie that

A "real man" does whatever he wants.

Today's young man is raised in a society where teachers can not enforce rules, parents are told that saying "no" is bad parenting, and billionaires and politicians demonstrate that laws and rules are for the gullible. The path that young men are pointed to is one of independence and self rule where it's "my way or the highway".

UNIT 3 training considers the minefield that this attitude and lifestyle presents the young man. The one who seeks to live a "Godly life in this present age" must be trained in "renouncing ungodliness" (Titus 2:12).

And as Christ’s soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the One who has enlisted you in His army.

Ultimately, the GODLY MAN does what God wants. This means putting God first and doing things God’s way. One can not know God’s way, or His will, unless one studies the Bible.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
— 2 Timothy 2:15

The GODLY MAN seeks that his desires be "transformed by the renewing of his mind" (Romans 12:2). It is only when the "desires of our hearts" (Psalm 37:4) are defined by ones "delight in the Lord" that the man of God can "do whatever he wants", with "wants" that are directed by God.
