The PRIVATE badge and rank is earned by those who complete UNIT 2 training which establishes defence against the lie that

A "real man" stands up to fight.

While teen guys are inundated with this lie in the violence of super hero comics, actions films, and video games of today, God's Word provides a different perspective.

Jesus fought the spiritual battle we could not fight, by dying on the cross for our sins. From a human perspective Jesus didn't fight at all, and His death looked to be a defeat. But because He was sinless he could die for our sins.  When He rose from the dead He proved that the battle had been won, and that our sins were paid for entirely.

The GODLY MAN accepts the we can not fight this battle and accepts this free gift of God

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
