The SPECIALIST badge and rank is earned by those who complete UNIT 4 training and are able to defend against the lie that

a "real man" is a risk taker.

It's true that young men never shy away from risk. Some are harmless fun, but social media rewards those who broadcast their stunts online, encouraging more and more dangerous pursuits. The riskier the video, the more views one gets online. As men age, online gambling, stock trading, and crypto speculation, are presented as risks that are worth the reward. Other life choices where, at one time, the risks were well known and avoided, are commonplace today.

UNIT 4 training proves a risk assessment for life, including the following pitfalls:

• drugs and alcohol
• pornography and the dark web
• online scams
• sextortion
• gambling

Ultimately, the greatest risk is a life of sin which flows from doubting and disobeying the truth of God's Word.

So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

The GODLY MAN believes God and lives a life of faith. Sometimes believing God feels risky, but a real man knows that God is in control, that God can be trusted, and that there is no risk at all.  When one believes God their actions prove their faith. A man who says he believes God but then lives disobediently is not a real man, and is taking the worst kind of risk. (1 John 2:4)
