The SPECIALIST badge and rank is earned by those who complete UNIT 4 training and are able to defend against the lie that
a "real man" is a risk taker.
It is true that God has created men with a capacity to venture into risky territory. Some risks are actually good. But discerning which risks are “steps of faith”, instead of “foolish nonsense”, or worse yet, “dangerous traps” is what sets apart the GODLY MAN.
UNIT 4 training proves a risk assessment for life, including the threats of:
- Drugs, smoking, vaping, and alcohol
- Pornography, sextortion, and the dark web
- Social media addiction
- Phishing and identity theft
- Impersonation scams (tech support/banking/pig butchering)
- Gambling and sports betting
- Cryptocurrency and investment fraud
The GODLY MAN understands these vulnerabilities and threats, and how they exploit his human heart. The GODLY MAN must be prepared with strategies to guard against their attack.
To that end, the GODLY MAN takes the “risk” of walking by faith in Christ with obedience, where actions prove one's faith. This is a faith that at times may feel risky, but the GODLY MAN knows that God is in control, that God can be trusted, and that there is no risk at all. This is the life of faith described in God’s Word as pleasing to Him.
So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

And so, the training ground of UNIT 4 prepares the young man for the decisions they will face in life, decisions that require faith and the “risk” of trusting God. This is according to the principle of knowing and obeying God’s Will, as outlined in His Word.
